The Ins and outs of International Trade Transactions
International trade transactions may take many forms and frequently involve both the provision of goods and services in the same transaction (for example, the seller of IT equipment may provide hardware, software and support services; the seller of a consumer product may also provide repair and maintenance services as part of the contract). However, these transactions can be simplified into four typical transactions as is indicated by the examples and schematics below. The icons in the schematics representing steps of a trade transaction are linked to general explanations of each step. For more detailed information, additional links are provided after a general overview.
